religious trauma + Deconstruction

deconstructing & reconstructing is a tough process. its harder when you’re not sure who to talk to about it.

Here to help with:

  • spiritual trauma

  • religious abuse

  • questioning faith

  • struggles with finding a faith community

  • processing hurt related to faith

  • ways to help integrate faith/spirituality into life in values aligned ways

Maybe Religion was supposed to be your safe haven, but instead, it left you feeling hurt, misunderstood, or maybe even betrayed.

Maybe it felt forced on you from the beginning

maybe what your faith says it believes and how you see it being lived out has you asking questions

And now, you're here, scrolling and seeking something... different.

A genuinely safe space where your experiences are not just acknowledged but truly validated.

Where the trauma inflicted in the name of faith is recognized for what it is—real, deep, and deserving of healing.

The Lowdown on Religious Trauma: Religious trauma cuts deep, affecting us in many ways, leaving scars that might not be visible but are felt, every single day. Whether it's the aftermath of spiritual abuse, the suffocation felt in a high-demand religious group, or the internal turmoil of questioning everything you once believed, please know

you can find healing.

What Healing Looks Like Here: This isn't about another "safe space" that promises much and delivers conditional acceptance. It's about real, raw healing. I'm talking about a therapy journey tailored just for you, using both talk and body-brain based approaches that get right to the heart of trauma. Because healing isn't one-size-fits-all, especially not here. It's about understanding how your experiences impact your body and mind, and gently, but surely, working through them.

You deserve to process your experiences in a place whose only agenda is your liberation.

A place that understands the complexity of leaving or questioning your faith, without judgment or pressure. A place that sees you—the whole you—and supports your journey towards feeling whole again.

Oftentimes, I work with people who don’t know how to feel or who to go to. They are on a wide spectrum of:

  1. being deeply involved in a spiritual community but feeling unsettled

  2. feeling like their values & their current religious space are no longer in alignment

  3. concern about how leaving a community may impact thier lives, family, relationships

  4. have no religious community or faith tradition and no interest in being in one/going back to one

  5. feel a sense of spirituality but unsure how to live that out

If you’re feeling isolated or like no one understands? I hear it all the time.

Navigating life post-religious trauma is about finding peace, reclaiming your identity, and moving forward with a sense of clarity and strength.

Your Next Step: If you're ready to start this journey, to find healing and a sense of peace that's been missing, I'm here. Let's create a path forward that respects where you've been and where you want to go, with all the support you need wrapped up in genuine understanding and care.

  • Nope. This process this about YOU figuring out what YOU want and need. Many people come here to figure that out because they don’t have an unbiased place to do that in their current circle.

  • The majority of my experience is related to people in evangelical Christian or Catholic spaces, but I have worked with a variety of belief systems and plenty of people who hold no beliefs at all in their stage of life.

  • This makes sense. When we have trusted people with our lives and mental and spiritual health, it is no small thing when that trust is broken. My therapeutic style is not directive. I am not here to tell you what to do or what to believe. I do not use guilt or shame as a basis for working through trauma in any way. You are always the leader of your story and experience. I provide an attuned, supportive space to process your feelings. It can be scary reaching out, or opting to trust someone after you’ve been hurt and it’s up to you to decide when you are ready. You are welcome to schedule a free consultation with me to see if my style and personality may bea good fit your you.

  • No. I do not offer Christian counseling. In therapy, I may incorporate a person’s belief system if it is helpful to their process, but often when working with spiritual or religious trauma, clients have strong feelings about wanting to work within or outside of their spiritual belief system and I honor that preference.
